Take a holiday in the

Currer

Laithe

Farm

Currer Laithe is a 16th century farmhouse overlooking our 170 acres and the great sweep of the Airegap, Ilkley Moor and, to the north-west, Ingleborough. It commands an unparalleled view of walled pasture, woodland and moor.

Our land is riddled with footpaths and its southern boundary borders the St Ives Manor Estate with parkland, golf course, nature trail, fishing lake and children's adventure playground.

This is Bronte Country, less than 4 miles from Haworth Parsonage. A mile away is the Worth Valley Steam Railway and the leeds/Liverpool Canal is attractive between the famous Five Rise locks at Bingley and the market town of Skipton with its castle fortress.
Part of the house was built in 1571 by Arthur Currer who bought it from the Paslews of East Riddlesden Hall (NT). The land was once farmed by the monks of Rievaulx Abbey.
The farm has a variety of animals and supports a herd of 160 cattle, 80 calves being reared each year. The adjacent barn was converted, in 1980, into two holiday cottages and B/B and E/M for about twelve guests.
Here is inexpensive Yorkshire hospitality at its best, with Traditional menu. 3 ensuite bedrooms, and 3 with private facilities Pets are welcome.

We are covenanted to THE NATIONAL TRUST and the 450 years of history can be found in my autobiography "We'll see the cuckoo" and its sequel "We'll trace the rainbow"
